Master Ashley Robertson

Meet Master Ashley Robertson

Chief Instructor at Melbourn TSD

Sah Dan Master, 4th Degree Black Belt

Master Ashley Robertson started training with WTSDA at the age of 5 at Chatteris TSD in 1994.  When he was 6 years old he transferred classes to become one of Grandmaster M. Khan’s students at St.Ives TSD.  Master Robertson started training because his cousin was already training and he wanted to go as well.
He is now recognised by the WTSDA as a 4th degree Master and a certified instructor.
Master Robertson has competed in many championships and tournaments across the world.  He has been Regional, National and European champion and also a double bronze medallist at the 2004 World Championships (Florida, USA) and a bronze medallist at the 2010 World Championships (North Carolina, USA).
Master Robertson started his teaching career with the WTSDA at the age of 11 when he received his 1st degree black belt.  He would help his instructor Master Khan by teaching new students their new forms or one-steps once they had passed their testings. He then attained his own instructors certificate at the age of 15 and began assisting his cousin Master Ben Harper with his classes at Beck Row TSD and Mildenhall TSD.  In 2005 Master Robertson took over the Mildenhall and Beck Row classes and became the head instructor.  Due to a change in careers Master Robertson moved to Hertfordshire and handed down these classes to his highest ranked student Mr Matthew Wallace.  He then opened Melbourn TSD along with 2 more clubs Meldreth TSD (juniors classes) and Bassingbourn TSD.  Master Robertson now has over 20 years’ experience as an instructor.
